Morton H. Shaevitz, Ph.D., ABPP
Morton H. Shaevitz received his Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles and is Board-Certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Formerly, he served as the Associate Director for Counseling Services at the University of Michigan, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at UCSD, Director of Eating Disorders and Behavioral Health Programs and Associate Director of Weight Management programs at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the UCSD School of Medicine and serves as the Clinical Director of Shaevitz and Associates in La Jolla, California.
Amy J. Ahlfeld, M.A. , Psychological Assistant
Amy Ahlfeld, M.A., an advanced doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology/Alliant International University in San Diego, is currently a psychological assistant at Shaevitz and Associates. Ms. Ahlfeld has significant experience as an educator, having previously taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District for seven years. She has worked extensively with female adolescents, ethnic minorities, bilingual/bicultural patients, and domestic violence offenders. Her areas of specialization include creating behavioural interventions for health and/or education-related change, fostering resiliency and responsibility among adolescents, and managing conflict and life transitions. She currently has Domestic Violence Certification and has experience in facilitating groups on weight management, domestic violence, and anger management.
